Rivesto-Marmorino (Venetian Plaster)

Rivesto-Marmorino is a genuine marble product that combines "old world" tradition with the ease of modern plastering to create the elegant and luxurious look of marble.

Rivesto-Marmorino today, is an entirely natural wall finish for modern times.

Derived from the Italian word for marble, Marmorino has an actual marble content of 42 percent, a minimum of 40 percent being required to be termed Marmorino. It consists of high quality marble which is broken, ground, washed and sifted, and is mixed with slaked lime and water producing an end product that is seamless whether on the columns or walls. It's highly desired and sought after shine is the result of mechanical burnishing to the surface during application which achieves the look and captures the luster of marble.

As is not the case with many synthetics or half synthetic products, this product is never sanded, (except on the corners to create a straight edge or for repairs). Therefore a dust free work environment is achieved, especially on renovation work, which saves a lot of time and prevents potential problems for customers. Additionally this product is reliable. It can store a lot of moisture without it being affected structurally, color wise, or otherwise changing its adherence to its foundation. Rivesto-Marmorino is weatherproof and can therefore be used successfully outdoors.

Rivesto-Marmorino is available in two versions:

First, a Fine grain which features a smooth polished feel
Secondly, a Course grain recommended for rough substrates and/or external work.

Rivesto-Marmorino offers a number of benefits, including:

  • The same product can be used on all steps, from the begining to the end

  • No sanding is necessary, therefore achieving a dust free work environment

  • Color selections include 25 base colors. The applicator can select and use these to create a wide range of personalized shades

  • The shiny (polished) surface is achieved by burnishing the product in a mecanical way using a special trowel and so no additional polishes, waxes or varnishes are necessary

  • The product can be applied to both interior and exterior applications

  • It has a wide range of creative design possibilities (prior to the final step)

  • It is perfectly suited for column and restoration work

  • Repairs are always possible, even after many years, without unsightly seams

  • The shelf life is almost unlimited and the product is freeze-thaw stable
